2011 in Film

These are the movies I've seen this year, to date. In order of release date:

The Adjustment Bureau
Sucker Punch
The Conspirator
Thor
Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides
Kung Fu Panda 2
X-Men: First Class

As you can see, I haven't seen nearly as many movies this year as I had by this point last year. Part of that is because my New Year's Resolution last year was to learn how to critically view films, and part of it is that so far the movies available just haven't appealed to me. The summer movies have started showing, though, and there are plenty of those I want to see, so I guess I'll be updating this list more in the near future.

It's 2011

I realize that the calendar year has changed, but there are still movies from last year that are still in theatres. I saw True Grit two weeks ago, for instance, and tonight I'm going to see The Town at the Reitz Cinema.

Obviously, these can't technically go on the list, but they still count for the less-official list of movies from 2010 that I'll have seen before the Academy Awards come up. The Oscars, of course, are the true deadline here.
